Index of Mangrove Health Around the Ex-Bauxite Mining Area, Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province

There are several former bauxite mining areas on Bintan Island which until now have been left open and not managed properly. In Tanjungpinang, the location of mine is located around mangrove forest ecosystem. The impact that changes structure, texture, physical soil can interfere with development root system growth surrounding plants, including mangroves. Therefore, it necessary to know health condition mangroves area. method used a cluster plot by calculating percentage tree damage based organ location, type, level damage. results analysis show in Tanjungpinang City healthy (50,9%); slightly damaged (40,4%) moderately (8,8%). locations organs suffered most were roots, lower upper stems, leaves. common type found roots submerged red mud; stems leaves covered dust sand; termite; broken stem; break die; shoots; change color. greatest severity between 10% 20%.
